Ok so NO to develop under the oval but what are the alternatives?
Don't agree with the argument that this is to far away from the Manly Cbd or isn't good for local business. Because visitors only have to cross one road and walk past local businesses to the beach. Plus with 3 hour parking for locals and a new water park where will visitors park?

I also think the idea of greening the Whistler Street car park is excellent. I am totally against the building of a new car park, especially under the oval. It will flood. Manly Council will be liable for car damage. I also can't see how commercial buildings along Whistler Street will really be any better than a spruced up car park, and at least with the latter the Council would then still retain ownership. If the Council does insist on the current proposed plan, perhaps Candy you could request that the Wentworth Street car park is only available for free to Manly residents? At least that may help the local businesses a little with the resident shoppers.

I like the convenience of the Whistler St parking station but accept that it is ugly. With some creative thinking it could become an amazing living sculpture. Creating hanging or climbing green walls all around the structure would be an effective way to turn this problem around. Something Manly could be very proud of.
