I am concerned that Manly Council treats the ratepayers like idiots. Our elected reps are proposing to spend huge money on various ideas but we are not allowed to see any of the important data. The Pool debacle is a case in point. The Council stated that their cost estimate of $15m would be covered by a "low" interest govt. loan. Apparently,the quotes range upwards from $26m, but this gross miscalculation is not being shared with us. Based on their lack of ability, It scares me to think what the Oval debacle will blow out to. How do we demand more say on how OUR money is being misspent.
