Manly is well known for sun, swimming, eating and drinking. But I would love to see more promotion of the history, heritage, art and local business. Using our imaginations I am sure Manly's profile can be lifted and expanded to become known as the destination spot that has it all! One idea could be to have a Town crier on weekends dressed in period costume. He could be roaming the village stopping at various spots and crying out what is in that vicinity. Heritage and current business can be promoted. For example he could say “This is the location of the first aquarium in the colony of NSW. It now is home to some of the best Aboriginal art in the country, the freshest fish and chips and the finest coffee in the southern hemisphere” Its fun and informative for visitors and broadens the view of what Manly has to offer.
